In an effort to address issue of child trafficking, Plan International Cambodia recently supported a safe migration training to key border police officials at the country’s most common migration gate in the northwestern Battambang province.
Organized in collaboration with the National Committee for Counter Trafficking, Cambodia Against Child Trafficking, and Cambodia Family Support, the two-day training covered labor and migration laws and policies, protection of trafficking and migrant workers, safe and impact of migration.
Participating migration officials expressed their appreciation for the new knowledge and skill and are committed to apply to promote safe migration and protect young migrant workers from trafficking and exploitation.
They are also positive that they can apply what they attained to tighten close cooperation with bordering Thailand as well as the private sector concerned.
Thailand is the destination country with highest number of Cambodian migrants.
